Completed Projects:
Alberta Children’s Hospital

The
Alberta Children’s Hospital was the first free standing
paediatric facility built in Canada in over 20 years. It is
approximately 750,000 sq. ft. in size and carried a $500
million total construction cost. The hospital officially
opened in August of 2006 and took approximately four and
half years to complete.
The vision was to create a building that would reduce stress
and promote healing with the children. The Healing Garden
that surrounds the new hospital gives both patients and
their families a private area to heal and have fun. The
hospital includes sleeping facilities for parents in each
patient room, a babysitting service for siblings of the
patients, a space for spiritual activities and a pet
visitation room.
